Giuseppe Veneziano

Giuseppe Veneziano was born in Mazzarino, Sicily, in 1971. He graduated in Architecture from Palermo University in 1996 and moved to Milan in 2002, where he lives and devotes himself exclusively to art and painting. After his first major exhibition in 2006 at the Luciano Inga Pin gallery in Milan, he participated in international events such as the St. Petersburg Biennale (2007), the Prague Biennale (2009), and the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (2011).

He is considered one of the leading Italian exponents of the New Pop movement. His works, with their original and recognizable language, address sensitive issues such as politics, sex, and religion, often blending reality and fiction through historical icons, famous figures, comics, and cartoons. The power of his images lies in their communicative power, grounded in global visual mass culture. He is recognized by critics as a leading figure in the Italian New Pop movement and the Italian Newbrow group.
