Human Connections Gallery at the 10th edition of Milano Scultura.

To mark the tenth anniversary of Milano Scultura, Human Connections Gallery of Pietrasanta (LU) presents a project devoted to sculpture, explored through two languages: that of Filippo Tincolini, who works Carrara marble as a material of the contemporary, and that of Laura Veschi, who through photography investigates its time, gesture and process.

The fair returns to the city and arrives in the spaces of Concessionaria 23, a former industrial car park recently converted into a venue for contemporary art, offering an original and strongly distinctive setting for a fair that, since its beginning, has been the only Italian event entirely dedicated to sculpture and three-dimensional expression.

Filippo Tincolini presents four sculptures: "Ex Ludis" and "Vestigium Corporis" from the Nova Idola series, "Diana" and "Jeeg Glove" from the Ancient Gods series. The works bring classical statuary into dialogue with the imagination of our time: the ritual of sport, the heroic myth, the sign that longs to become eternal. Fragments that seem unearthed from a future excavation, where what we now consider ephemeral takes on the gravity of stone.

Laura Veschi does not merely "photograph the work" passively, nor does she seek to turn it into a new object detached from the artist's original intention. Sculptures and human figures belong to the same field of inquiry: bodies of stone and living bodies, forms destined to endure and presences given to the photographic instant. It is in this tension between matter, body and time that photography becomes another way of reading sculpture.
