MICHELANGELO: A LIFE IN MARBLE
The book is structured into two complementary journeys. The first part retraces the extraordinary life of Franco Barattini who, since the age of just 12, lived in the marble basins of Carrara holding every possible role: from the tough apprenticeship as a tecchiaiolo to the intermediate ranks, eventually becoming the entrepreneur at the helm of the Gruppo Cave Michelangelo.
The second part gathers the voices and testimonials of the many artists that Barattini welcomed into his atelier. It is a narrative of generosity and vision, highlighting his fundamental role in supporting young sculptors, many of whom have now become world-renowned artists.
